China Plate Magic

I am packing up some antique china to store right now and decided to grab my camera and take photos of it.    A photo takes up less room, right.

This is one of the plates; it was handpainted in the late 1940's by a neighbor of my mother's.  I have several of them and this is one I am not overly fond of, compared to many of the others.

But look what a little digi magic can do with those daisies.  Or sunflowers????

I simply could not resist going a little further with this lovely composition:  This is me and Papa Woody at my nephew's wedding.

Scrapping Europe

Another one down!  I did this layout for a class at Hummie's World.  I extracted the statues (called the Carytids) and put them on a new layer so I could write text behind them, but still on the photo.  I love it!

you can click on the image to go to the gallery where I listed the credits.  There is a long list of designers to thank!  I love "wandering through my kits" for a layout.

Sweet Angel

This sweet lady is married to my nephew. They are both superstars. My nephew is a professional photographer and they love to compose fun photo ops in their familyand are not afraid to dress up in costumes. It really makes it great for their aunt who loves to digiscrap. I was participating in a template fun challenge today and went hunting in my files for a fun photo to scrap and grabbed this one. Thanks for posting it on FB, Angel!! This is for you.

Scrapbooks Embedded

The people I make scrapbooks are all about electronics and the web.  My generation kind of likes to touch the books.  I collect photos all year and make a book for my niece, nephew, and son.  I have used whatever site had the best deal that week to print and found all to be pretty good.  I have used Mixbook before and suddenly recalled that they had some extra features for viewing books on the web.  So I went back to one of my books and discovered this embed tool.  Going to see how it works.  This is an older scrapbook and does not include my sweet granddaughter, Teaghan.

Not Too Early

It seems it is never too early for a girl to try out some makeup.  Even if it is just the plastic king.  Go Teaghan.

I Wanna Be a Cowboy

Not really, but this is the name of the new kit by Leave a Legacy Designs over at Stuff to Scrap, and it is an adorable one!  There is a cowboy, a rodeo clown, a horseshoe, a horse, a steer, and some great wordart.  I especially love this kit because I have so many photos of family members and horses....my father-in-law raised horses all his life, and I rode them, hubby rode them, my kids rode them, and my grandsons, too.  We miss you Woody!

Click on the preview below to buy the kit!
Here are the two layout I have made (so far) with this adorable kit.  More to come.

Create Shortcuts to getting organized

I read Leaving a Legacy Designs blog post today and a whole new world opened up.  I can put a kit into one of my digi files on my computer and then put a short cut to it in other files, by using my right mouse button.  Who knew?.  I love it!  If you don't already know this trick, go read all about it.  This is a screen capture of Kimberly's files with the shortcut arrows, grabbed from her blog.

Be Mine

Lee Benker's Designs has a new kit out just in time for Valentine's Day; it is called BeMine and is just so pretty.

(click image to go to the store to grab it)
And, as always, she has designed some delightful journaling cards for the kit. (click image to find them in the store.

I made two layouts using BeMine

As usual, I scrapped the adorable children from my extended family.  Thank you for posting them, mommies

That "thing" behind the small photos in the above layout, I made using this paper:
Isn't it cool what you can do in photoshop? (for some reason, Blogger puts a black background on my .pngs.  At least it makes them show up!  If you would like this .png splat to help you scrap with BeMine, you can get it here.  You are welcome.

FaceBook Page

If any of my online scrapper friends are following my blog, did you also know I have a FaceBook Page?  I made one so my scrapping life could show up in your Facebook Newsfeed instead of having to remember to come to my blog.  Either way works, but I personally enjoy seeing all the scrapping activity I am interested flowing through my FB newsfeed.  So you can look over at the right column, click on Facebook, and go like me.  Maybe someday I will figure out how to give away freebies on it.

Join My Scraplift

I have a Scraplift Challenge going over at Hummie's World.  There are so many beautiful layouts all over the digi world and sometimes one catches my eye.  This is the one for February that I had to scraplift:

Scraplift source:
Loriebug66 at SweetShopDesigns.com

Since I really like to start my layouts with a template, I made myself a template of this layout, and you can find the download link over at Hummie's World

This is my take on the Scraplift.  I flipped it.

So come find my challenge at Hummie's World and join me for some February Scrappin' Love!

Designer Scraplift

This is a layout I made of my friend Nina's granddaughter.  I give her a scrapbook once a year, and no time like the present to start on 2013.  This was also for a Designer Scraplift Challenge over at Stuff to Scrap and the layout called for three photos and I these three grabbed my attention.  Love the pink jacket.

The kit I used is called Take My Picture and it is by Designs by Snowlady.  It is a cute kit.

Groovy

The Seventies seem to be the current big thing.  The Build a Kit for February over at Stuff to Scrap decided to launch a Groovy theme for their designers to play with.  You can pick up all the pieces in their store.
Here is the preview of the part made by Leaving a Legacy Designs. Click the previews to get them.

Although I am not a fan of these bright colors, I think I made two pretty cool layouts with LLD's part.
This is my daughter's cat.  I sent her the layout and she loved it.  But, then, she did not have to endure the 70's styles.

This is a photo of my granddaughter, Teaghan.  I put a cool vintage filter on the photo and she IS a groovy chick!
clicking on the layouts will take you to my gallery at Stuff to Scrap.
